Bayview Forest Partnership

Bayview Forest Partnership, established by Roger Dickie NZ in 1992, represents a proven and enduring forestry investment in the heart of Hawke’s Bay. Strategically positioned on Seafield Road, the property is located just 18 km from Napier via State Highway 2 and only 12 km from the Pan Pac timber mill at Whirinaki, providing outstanding access to key processing and export infrastructure.

Founded in March 1992, planting commenced that same winter, laying the foundation for a highly successful first rotation. The forest was harvested between 2022 and 2024, achieving an impressive net stumpage of $44,205 per hectare, significantly outperforming the forecast of $39,198 per hectare. This strong result underscores the quality of the asset and its management. The forest has since been replanted, positioning Bayview for its next cycle of growth and returns.

Shareholders have approved the second rotation, with a standout feature being the expectation that the next harvest will be fully funded through carbon revenues and cash reserves, forecast to eliminate the need for any further capital contributions. This offers a compelling combination of sustainability and capital efficiency.

Bayview benefits from a well-established roading network, which provides a significant advantage for future harvesting operations and reduces associated costs. Coupled with its close proximity to Napier Port, the forest continues to enjoy highly competitive cartage rates, an increasingly valuable attribute.

As of August 2025, Bayview Forest comprises a net-stocked area of 263.9 hectares, delivering scale, infrastructure, and a strategic location in one highly attractive investment opportunity.
